ABOUT SEED PHYTONUTRIENTS
You are beautiful just the way you are! How you feel and what you put on your body is so important and clean beauty should be synonymous with healthy living. That is the philosophy and the approach at Seed Phytonutrients. Their obsession is preserving seed diversity, promoting natural beauty, supporting local American independent organic farmers and leading environmental sustainability.
The company talks a lot about sustainability and they back it up with the actions they take! That’s what true leaders do. They use only recycled and recyclable packaging for all of their products. Their shower-friendly paper bottles are made of 100% post-consumer recycled paper with a post-consumer recycled plastic liner, resulting in 60% less plastic than a traditional bottle. And behind the craft paper of the bottle, they put a little gift for all of you using their products - a packet of plantable seeds that you can grow into flowers.
Seed Phytonutrients has partnered with TerraCycle® to create a free recycling program for their pumps which are then being upcycled and turned into items such as farm fences or Adirondack chairs.
Over the past century, 94% of seed varieties have been lost due to many factors including over-commercialization. Saving seeds and creating diversity matters because it helps plants protect themselves from pests, diseases, and climate change.
Why seeds? Well, they firmly believe the seed is the most concentrated part of the plant, and an ideal choice for top quality ingredients for their line of products. Seeds contain high concentrations of omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, phytosterols, carotene and vitamins A, C, D and E which are ideal to nourish and protect our skin and hair. When extracting oils from the seeds they only use cold press and expeller methods without having to use any chemical solvents. They return what’s left of the seed to their American farmers to turn into animal feed.
Speaking of farmers, when you shop Seed Phytonutrients products you are actually supporting the American organic farmers that are making it possible to source all the amazing ingredients that go into their products. Why is that important? It takes three years to be certified organic farm and in the certification process they are not allowed to market their products as certified organic. Considering the huge startup cost it is a very tough business and many farmers are forced to go back to conventional farming.
