Two most common sulfates are Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLEs) and are used to create the lathering effect. These chemicals are often derived from petroleum and can be damaging to certain types of hair, can cause skin irritation, allergies, lead to hair loss and according to some studies can have some carcinogenic ingredients. This product does not contain these harmful chemicals.

Palm oil is said to be found in 50% of supermarket products, from food to cleaners to cosmetics. It is a type of vegetable oil derived from palm oil fruit. Its unsustainable production destroys rainforests and biodiversity and causes habitat loss for endangered species like Asian rhinos, elephants, tigers and orangutans.
